Science-Nature Study[curriculum]
The uses of parts of human body

We see with our eyes
We hear with our ears
We write with our hands
We walk with our legs
We eat with our mouth
We smell with our nose

Trees[curriculum]
The trees are green in colour. The trees give us flowers and fruits. Trees have big trunks, many branches and leaves. There are many types of trees. For e.g. Mango Tree, Banana Tree, Coconut Tree, etc.

Plants[curriculum]
Plants are the small trees. They have green branches and leaves. Plants are living things. Plants have six parts, viz. Roots, Branches, Stem, Leaves, Flowers and Seeds. They need sunlight and water to grow. e.g. Rose, Fern, etc.

Seeds[curriculum]
Plants are made out of seeds. Seeds are hard. When you sow a seed in the ground and water it for quite some time, you will see leaves sprouting and roots come out under the ground.

Leaves[curriculum]
Most leaves are green. They get food from the plant. They provide sunlight to the plants. All leaves are of different shapes and sizes.

Uses of trees[curriculum]
The tree gives us shade, fruits, flowers, rain and wood.

Sun[Preschool curriculum]
Sun gives us light and heat in the day. Without sunlight no life will be possible. Sun rises in the east. Sun sets in the west. We see the sun in the day.

Moon[ Nursery curriculum][Preschool curriculum]
Moon is seen in the night. It gives us moonlight in the dark. Moon does not give us heat. Moon comes out in different shapes on different days. When the full moon comes out, we call it a ‘full moon day’ and we get light then.

Stars[Preschool curriculum]
Stars twinkle at night. Some stars do not twinkle, they are called planets. The stars are far away. That is why they look very tiny. In olden days people used to find out directions by looking at the stars.

Sky[Preschool curriculum]
The sky is blue in the morning and black at night. We see sun, birds, clouds in day and moon and stars are seen at night in the sky.

Water[Preschool curriculum]
We cannot live without water. Water is very useful. We drink water. We wash our hands and clothes with water. We wash our dishes with water and our garden is kept alive with water. We take bath with water. We should not waste water.

Rain[Preschool curriculum]
Rain falls from the clouds. It gives us drinking water. Lakes, ponds and streams are made from rain water. Rain is very important for farmers and their crops. Rain cools the earth.

Seasons[Preschool curriculum]
There are five seasons. They are Monsoon, Summer, Winter, Spring and Autumn. It is hot in summer and cold in winter.

Directions[Preschool curriculum]
There are four directions. East, West, North and South.
